Already commissioned to design a Dimiur for someone else to 'adopt' I suppose!
Their name is Waol, and became dark matter-like after an experiment gone wrong.

Expansion on Dimiur from before; They gotta keep building increasingly impressive machines to keep themselves off the dinner plates of the Deveur.

The glands on their faces are for sensing moisture, temperature, and electro magnetism.

Made my own race of small fuzzy mechanics called Dimiur; who evolved to be techno-wizes to fight off their natural predator the Deveur.
