Where did you get the inspiration for your piece?
I had already decided what kind of environment I would draw...For yellow it was going to be either sunflowers or a bakery. Once I started to come up with ideas, I realized how much I enjoyed doing the concepts for the bakery.

What's the story behind your fairy/fairies?
Red...represents passion, strong emotions & blood, so I wanted to make a fairy that represented that. I also thought it'd be interesting to explore a different environment for a fairy... & how that would change the way she lived.

This week we’re exploring the Yaksha and Yakshini, guardians and nature spirits of Southern Asia, particularly India. Some yakshas are nature fairies who live in forests and lakes, such as the one pictured below as a crane from the story of Yaksha Prashna in the Mahabharata. 1/3
