A big part of the difference is industrial design. Stålenhag's work leans so hard on the uncanny, the familiar or friendly made ominous. (Which could be why he depicts children or parents more often than rowdy teens.) His robots look like someone wanted them to look safe. And yet

@Suedeuxnim @MarieldaZine It wasn't them, of course. Couldn't be. The park wasn't built until the war was long on. And yet it was undeniable, too. Their bodies, their posture. Their shape.

Were they echoes from some lower strata? A blessed hiccup in reconfiguration? Or did even gods find time to be weak?
