Homura’s Overdrive from from Eden’s Zero is so good, not only does she look like a 9 tail fox but she is also a silver hair girl now. Because besides redheads silver hair anime girls are the best

i wasn't the best artist back in the day but I think i at least had a few cool-looking designs

What also helped me was a few shows with knights in them like the armor from that 1 Billy and many episodes, Dukemon, Zero from SD Gundam, and finally Shining Knight from JLU
