i have been laughing at this piece of DW art for weeks

#mtmteread this is perfect. the title at the very end. the fact the reveal is restrained to the last page. no further explanation is needed, it immediately just coheres. 'an intimate beheading'. that this wasn't PLANNED fucking floors me.

#mtmteread this is a bit of a 'ignoring bits of other canon' moment, though not unreconcilable as a bit of dramatic irony.

but autocracy did come out like. recently. so a bit odd. otoh autocracy makes VERY little sense itself in the timeline, so.

#mtmteread they really sell me on these two. i do 100% believe in the dynamic set up here, with the little affectionate asides earlier and the confidence it's presented with.

#mtmteread yes yes foreshadowing, but also, rewind and rung come up surprisingly often in little ways, and i think that potential was a little untapped for story opportunities. that bit where rewind reacts to rung's transformation noise in LL 23(?) is in the *notebooks*!
