rating: I love how it’s a yokai but such an odd interpretation of one. taking the simple premise of “a woman with a mouth on the back of the head” and going in such a weird direction. and it’s the best mega evolution! 9/10

utterly iconic in every way. psyduck is everything I could ever want in a fictional creature. if I could only have one pokemon out of them all, I’d pick psyduck in a heartbeat.

favorite sprite: this one has such a nicely shaped bill and pose

rating: it’s gulpin! a weirder pokemon, and one of those quirky designs that hoenn excelled at. it can’t really be compared to anything else, except maybe a living stomach? I keep forgetting it but it’s a cool 8/10

rating: cool! this is a very cool archelon thing, maybe a bit of gamera in it? the tusks make me think that and hey, gamera’s really neat. 7/10 cool and interesting but overshadowed by archen (I adore archen)
