basculin’s like the saddest pokemon, I still remember an interview where ken sugimori straight up said they only made this because they didn’t have a basic fish in gen five. poor little things are just filling a quota.

in general the shin ultraman designs are lovely I’m a big fan of how they aren’t necessarily “realistic” takes but more like “what could we do if we didn’t have to put someone in a suit and could just go crazy with it?”

I know pokemon breeding doesn’t run off anything resembling real genetics but they have to be implying SOMETHING by saying these two are compatible

I guess kirby 64 is my favorite dededesign in game because I don’t think his dreamland 3 sprite looks quite as good as the art. he kinda looks like a fish here actually, and that’s fine for a fish but not so much a dedede.
