Asians aren't a monolith.
We wanted our cards to reflect our individual experiences in academia and the stories we never get to see in media. We wanted Asian characters that weren't defined exclusively by intergenerational trauma like Killian.
We wanted better.
On Asians Represent, we've spent a lot of time talking about how #MTGStrixhaven has relied on Asian stereotypes to tell the story of Killian Lu. As MtG fans, we wanted to be seen beyond stereotypes.
So we decided to design our own "magical college" cards with the help of @hhlau!
