In honor of the final release of Attack on Titan coming out in print, I thought I would dig up some info on the process of creating the logo from my archives to share. My schedule has prevented me from doing these posts this past year, but I wanted to mark the occasion. 1/8

Going back into the archives now to take a look at the logo process for Negiho. This is from 2012—I remember this being a drop-in on the schedule, so there wasn’t a lot of time for it. 1/4

Here’s the very first manga logo and cover design I ever did all the way back in 2007—for Toto! from Del Rey Manga. The logo was pretty simple; but I also realized that would make it harder to “hide” mistakes, so I had to focus on the T/O being dynamic. 1/4

A little bit about the Saiyuki logo—I did a lot of really quick brush sketches, a few dozen at least. These pages were the most relevant to the final logo. I brought it into Illustrator and used the auto-trace as a starting point, manually manipulating points until it was…1/2
