Pretty much any collection of Charles Addams cartoons you can find. Perfect dark funny, and the drawings are wonderful.

(Addams' work was the source for the Addams family TV show and movies, and I love a couple of the movies, but the cartoons are better.)

#78 - The Blot by Tom Neely. An ordinary guy finds his life being taken over by ink blots. Wonderful vintage-style cartoon drawings and a super-surreal story.

#77 - The Adventures of Superhero Girl. I love this comic strip by Faith Erin Hicks! It's wonderfully laid-back humor about a slacker-ish 20ish superhero trying to get her do-gooding career started.

#68 - Band Vs Band Comix by Kathleen Jacques. A super-fluffy feel-good lesbian romance punk rock soap opera, I just have fun reading every single page. The fun extends to the art, which makes great use of solid figure drawings and limited colors.

#67 - Notes for a War Story by Gipi.

Three teenage boys in an unnamed war-torn country try to get by and end up becoming petty criminals. Not a happy story, but very well told, and the drawings are exquisite.

#64 - The Monsieur Jean stories by Dupuy & Berberian. This French series features gently funny slice-of-life stories, told with beautifully relaxed cartooning that conveys character and setting so well.

#63 - Bone by Jeff Smith. I assume I don't need to describe this one! It now seems inevitable, but I remember Bone #1 coming out and I loved it and wondered if it would survive even six issues.

Vattu, by Evan Dahm. A fantasy universe that I think has to be told in comics rather than prose, because comics make it easy to show rather than tell. A unique, beautifully drawn fantasy epic adventure.
