one more stray florpus observation: the BGs are much less dank and stained than in the series. imo the series was mostly zim's POV & about taking over the world & florpus was from dib's, about saving the world. maybe this is earth through dib's eyes, something worth saving?

thinking fondly of the marker drawings ive done in the past... even though these are all pretty old now, i still like them! i think my color work always comes out better in traditional media than digital. wish traditional was less of a hassle; the ease of digital spoils me a bit.

i also liked that zim's hands retain elements of the original design, with tapered wrists/ankles and pointy fingers. it's a subtle way to differentiate him from the human kids! it makes him look more alien and it reminds you that dib and gaz are really just babies after all.

i really noticed it in the kids' hands! wrists now thicken instead of tapering to a point, and fingers are rounded out. pretty bold imo considering the pointy fingers are one of the design hallmarks of the original but the redesign really appeals to me & doesn't distract at all!
