I am always trying to create a narrative in my paintings, which is why I am using less and less posing models as reference. An artwork without a narrative is sort of orfan to me, it needs to tell a story, it needs a path.

@ramennikki I like to stain the canvas with various different colors to create this sort of "noise" in the picture where the paint doesn't adhere properly due to the bold brushwork and the texture, so I choose the color according to the palette of the painting, like I did in these:
