Moto Hagio's manga: "I studied by copying those drawings. For a time, I also copied a lot of shoujo manga, especially those of 'Moto Hagio".

Dororo: "'Dororo' is my favorite manga by Tezuka Osamu. It had a great influence on my work. Berserk is a blend of my favorite novels and manga. I've always wanted to make a dark and grotesque fantasy where something like monsters are likely to appear."

Mad Max: This one is probably the most interesting to me. The "Berserk" title did not come from Norse culture.. but Mad Max. It was only later down the line that he became familiar with the Norse myths

Violence Jack and Devilman, as well as Go Nagai's work in general:
