it's really interesting how they're still using Ben's journey to carry the message of learning about your shadow -- not the darkside, but your shadow. I bet a "good death" the leader keeps mentioning is about experiencing annihilation of the soul so the shadow is all that's left

it's not creative or interesting to make the audience sympathize with a character you're just going to kill off without giving the character anything they actually wanted or *needed*

@leiaporgana at the end of the Dark Crystal, the bad aliens and the good aliens become one and return to their planet (they had split hundreds of years prior), and the main character saves the girl he loves simply by holding her. the planet is healed and everyone gets a happy ending.
