what he’s holding looks to me like a staff! (you can see the beginning of what i think is a handle! i Really want his role to link to magic. the orb of the staff itself also looks like the rings of saturn, being in line with the space theme of the play, but also his personal

you may not think that this applies to chikage’s character/illustration, but look at the light effects on his hair!! it’s a water effect. it also creates a connection between him and hisoka’s character, being that his name is “marine” (thank you l/ber i’m crying)

the word itself is defined as “a long wandering or voyage usually marked by many changes of fortune”. but further meaning can be attributed to it when realising that the word originates, as you can imagine, from the classical greek epic poem “the odyssey” by homer.

i have had the worst realisation

yasumi = a play on the word jasmine, but it can also mean a “holiday” or “rest” in japanese (休み). from his pose and the word “serenity”, it looks like this is a clever bit of wordplay that fits with his character!
