i'm most happiest with my work when i disregard the process of creating (i.e. being super conscious of my design choices, etc.) and just have fun with it. if i can look a drawing an get the same happy feeling i get from watching cartoons, then ik i did good!

How many times has a fictional character been played for laughs, forced to "grow up" or straight up killed off bc of their kindness/trusting nature? Kindness isn't seen as a courageous thing. It's something to be sacrificed, to be mocked or taken advantage of.
