Hold up - zoom in on that first page of fanart.

Oh good, someone started this.
In the hopes of reducing The Backlog and making it so I am no longer a Bad Ikuhara Fan, this year I will watch:
1. Penguindrum
2. Yuri Kuma Arashi
3. Dear Brother
4. Maria The Virgin Witch https://t.co/toBBHrVz5m
The same is equally true for Aldin, the protag of 1969's 1001 Nights. Reportedly, neither Eiichi Yamamoto (the director) nor the writers had a clear idea of what Aldin's look or personality should be until a meeting w/ character designer Takashi Yanase. (1/2) https://t.co/PrppRVxMbJ
The first will be The Fabulous Forty-Niners, which will be on Friday the 27th at 10PM Pacific/1AM Eastern. I'll be discuss the Magnificent Forty-Niners: who they were, what they did, and why they are such a big deal in shojo manga.
My latest Disaster Report is live! This time I look at the forgotten 2001 harem series Angel Tales. How do you forget a harem of dead pets-turned-angel girls? Blame poor production and changing trends in harem anime.

so many people claim to be anime fans but have never watched the Big Three
At long last, Disaster Report turns its eyes onto 1998's Weiss Kreuz. What started as a vanity project for a fujoshi franchise turned into one of anime's greatest unintentional comedies thanks to poor animation & nonsense plotting.

@LittleGreenWolf Fun fact: while doing research for Shojo Manga's Lost Generation, I discovered that legendary shojo/josei mangaka Masako Watanabe did one of those. She's literally been working since the 50s.
