next step was tightening up the rough and finishing the linework. also added the flat colours. we also played around with multiple colour palettes and landed on these blues and purples
well, good news! James loved it! i would go on to tighten up the initial sketch and add some rough colour. this was the winner, got the greenlight to move on to the final stages!
James really dug this version so we decided to expand on it. this stage was mostly playing around with different mouth shapes, to try and establish the mood. i also added some text here to see how it would look.
but if you’re familiar with my art, its tough for me to stay within a black and white palette. i wanted to try to add some colour in there. i felt it could be cool to have little weirdos make up the tongue and the vibrant colours would juxtapose the rest of the neutral palette.
@Old_Spirit_Art maaaaaan i have but it was a long ass time ago. this was like.. 2015?
