Today's selection of our favourite art from Brian Wildsmith's Illustrated Bible Stories: The dove returns to the ark with an olive branch. Joseph is presented to Potiphar. Joseph is reunited with his father. The Pharaoh's daughter finds a baby, later named Moses, in the Nile.
Wishing a specially happy thanksgiving to all our American friends and their families in this difficult year. Better days ahead. #Thanksgiving2020
Specially for @mrjamesmayhew and @nicolajharvey who have commented their appreciation in seeing Brian's roughs, here is one from Carousel, the book he published in 1988 to help children suffering illness. It is not on the website...yet!
Still getting the hang of this! Here goes for the missing images in previous tweet... fingers X’d...@KenilworthBook @mrjamesmayhew
Some website teasers. A lovely black ink illustration from Brian’s early freelance illustrator days for Nan Chauncey’s Tangara, 1962, an early 1970s promo taken in NYC and an original from the Owl and the Woodpecker.
