there's a bit in the new book (and in the previous book...) with characters going to sleep gradually & i think it's probably me just trying to get to where @wolfhard got to in this one - I remember it really sitting me down the first time i saw it

sometimes you get the question about pros/cons to illustrating other people's things & a big pro is that you end up roughing out pictures that you yourself would probably not have come up with on your own

s/o to the kids who weren't allowed to watch The Simpsons or Terminator or anything but this book was just left around the house like it was no big deal

this has been popping up on my feed a lot but just in case some of you haven't heard there's apparently going to be new Far Side soon & in my opinion this image bodes well

@CecileVarry Alex Colville might be neat - he always had fun with the contrast of how controlled painting can be with things in the composition/framing being off or disobeying conventional composition
