A banshee is a female spirit in Irish folklore who heralds the death of a family member, usually by wailing and shrieking. Her name is connected to the mythologically important tumuli or "mounds" that dot the Irish countryside, which are known as síde in Old Irish
DAY 7: KELPIE
The mythical kelpie is the Scots name given to a supernatural water horse that was said to haunt Scotland's lochs and lonely rivers. It has usually been described as appearing as a horse but is able to adopt human form
DAY 6: ENFIELD
"The Enfield is a mythological chimera from Ireland. The Journal of the Kilkenny and South-east of Ireland Archaeological Society describes it as having the head of a fox, the body and forelegs of an eagle and the hind and rear legs of a wolf"
DAY 5: LEPRECHAUNS
The leprechaun is Ireland's most famous mythical creature, known for it's obsession with gold and bringers of luck. Many people don't actually know they're fairies and it's actually very cruel to try hunt down their tiny pots of their most prized possessions!
DAY 2: FAES
Faes play a great role in celtic mythology, but I've decided to switch the whole traditional fairy design - instead of them being little thin women with butterfly wings I see them more as little hamster-like creatures with fluffy manes (these are moss faes!)
