An Aumakua is a deified ancestor, a guardian spirit able to manifest as animals like sharks (like my favorite shark the hammerhead!), shape-shift and look after the family members. Niuhi are the evil version of these spirits, manifested as great whites or tiger sharks

Here is some character design I did for a project I did for an assignment and which I want to work with in the future. It's about Aumakua, a family god from the Hawaiian mythology and has two of my favorite things: the sea and sharks! 🦈🌊🐚
