Sundays are for reflecting, and there's something about the work of illustrator Tom Haugomat that's both elegant and thought-provoking. His characters, like Hopper's, seem to be lost between two moments in life.

The United States may be a broken country right now but that doesn't stop it from being incredibly beautiful. And @jjtrailwalker captures it spectacularly well.

There's something about the work of Australian artist Maus Haus that is strangely soothing, despite the fact that it's mostly still life and vegetation. Maybe it's those wonderful earthy tones and the simple shapes she uses... either way I love it.

Really hard to pick just eight pieces. His work can be purchased both in original form and as prints on his website. #ArtistsOnTwitter

Art discovery of the week: North American painter Brandon Lillibridge (@brandonistrippy). Love his colourful compositions and the way he seems to jump from realism to abstract art in the same piece. Captivating.
