The exorcism took place in front of the entire community. The patient performed in a wild dance accompanied by a music called "Pizzica". She had to metaphorically fight against the spider until she was totally free from it.
With this project I wanted to give voice to this story.
The mental condition of these women was attributed to the bite of a tarantula rather than to the social and psychological situation they were forced to live. It was a sort of "hysteria" but but typical of my area and with the characteristics of the Apulian tradition. (2/3)

I have developed a series of works inspired by "Tarantism", a phenomenon that concerned the exorcism of some women suffering from depressive and neurotic attacks, the so-called "tarantate". (1/3)
