In case anyone is feeling a lack of formal art education is holding them back: I studied Medicine. Started illustrating (from ad agencies to cooking magazines) to make a living (trans people aren't very hireable). I got better fast because I had to pay rent. Dive into it!

Also, I need to say this because I get asked a lot. Yes I used to paint photorealistic scenes, and sometimes still do. But cute pixelart is more challenging and more fun for me, and no I'm not wasting my talent, nor is there such a thing as talent. It's all work. kthxbye
