The day I had to leave my country
On the 23rd of February 1944, Stalin and Beria decided to deport the whole population of Chechnya and Ingushetia to Central Asia. Despite their loved ones standing on the front, for the USSR, they were still declared as „enemies" of the nation.
In the summer of 1825, the Russian imperial army deceived elders from all over Chechnya, by gathering them in Gerzel-Aul, telling them that Yermolov wanted to make peace. However, Yermolov did not show up.
