And August 25. When I saw this bird on the list I knew I had to illustrate a very *specific* sulphur crested cockatoo. A true Aussie icon!
Okay I managed to stop laughing at today's bird for long enough to get caught up on #AvianAugust2022 again with a quick little entry.
Superb Bird of Paradise for day 18!
ok I lied I’ve been looking forward to drawing this 🌈 bird all week so I couldn’t resist going for it.
Red-crested Turaco for #AvianAugust2022 day 11
@telokaberry In addition to my avian august post you might like these pieces I've drawn previously! https://t.co/hhTnFyMZWO
And a couple more:
Not quite the wood duck that I'm named for, but it's a wood duck all the same!
I opted to draw the female because I thought I'd drawn the male previously; turns out that actually it was a Mandarin duck. I'll put a pic in the replies :)

A roseate spoonbill for day 7 of #AvianAugust2022! I tried loosening things up a bit while still using what I learned from drawing wings yesterday.
#AvianAugust2022 Day 4 - an 'I'iwi! I wanted to do a bit of a twisty little pose with this one, with the bird balancing on the flower and turning its head to look at the viewer.
I was fortunate to be commissioned for a couple of pieces while at @CouchWarriors' #BAM12. Here's a Mega Banette I painted during the event!
