My first piece for Strixhaven just got previewed! Rootha, Mercurial Artist. It was pretty funny being commissioned to paint a frustrated art student.

Demon concept for Kaldheim. They wanted the"viking helmet with horns" look for the demons, but biological instead of helmets. That lead to "what if their beards were made of horns?" and "maybe weapons made of weapons?".

Another concept for Kaldheim. We were asked to make the wood elves really muscular which was a pretty interesting change of pace for elves. I remember some funny conversations about their "beef level".

Here's a couple more images from the Kaldheim concept push, this time Shadow Elves. They're closely associated with the Cosmos Serpent so lots of scale motifs went in along with a cloak of shed serpent skin.
