The threat is over and the future team settles.
Stephen is still unforgiving, Heather is empathetic and Caleb is dismissive. Adam is rebellious.
The arc is over (epilogues are next)
He gets his first taste of power and is left exhausted.
Karin is proud of her idiot.
While he's able to handle himself during the mission, bicker, etc. At his core, he's still traumatized and has a thirst for power.
He can be triggered at any point. No matter the cover he places on his emotions, he's still broken and consumed.
I wanted to tie Adam's first live sortie back to the exam and his trauma.
The EAP weapon is similar to the Irregular that changed his life.
Sharon being on Mars emulates the situation in the exam.
Can he control himself? Is he strong enough to make a difference now?
I liked the idea of an Armored Core UI shot XD.
Team effort to save the day.
The exam fight was bloated with exposition dialogue, blown up talk about ideals, nothing organic or character driven. Which was never my writing style for fights in the series. It was just that 1 event.
So being able to show how I write action w/ my characters has been a joy.
Heather and Caleb's trust/partnership put on display.
Heather just being a sharp eye and able to solve a problem on the fly.
A lottttt of fun mech panels in this fight
Showing the main team work together as a team.
Even tho there's bickering.
Further escalation XD
But the first formation of the main team. Finally putting them to screen after years of thinking it'd only exist in written form.
Sharon experiencing the reality of the war on Mars for the first time.
