I think this is going to be my favorite anniversary piece. Probably because it's the first one I've ever done with just my ability. No traced references, self references for hand adjustments and an actual attempt on expressions.

It feels good.

Being able to draw, & draw better on my own has been a weird feeling.

I don't hate my old art, or how I drew to get here. It was my art journey, good or bad. I wouldn't have gotten here.

As I try to pursue art more seriously, I'm happy to say I'm standing on my own.

W/ this weekend being the 8 year anniversary of SH I've been looking back at my journey to getting to where I am.

From being a writer that really badly traced anime pics

To trying to learn anatomy and form from tracing photo references.

To now on my own. It's weird.
