@LRoundels @who_fx It does! 😅 I mean you might be right - who knows if they replaced the roundel mouldings for Stones? But equally it could be one of those weird optical illusions. I always think of this photo of the 63 set, where the roundels were definitely concave but look oddly convex here 🤪
@who_fx Ha! I’m fairly confident I’m right cos on both walls you can still see the inner ‘lip’ of the wall itself. The roundels were fastened *behind* the wall, so if either one was reversed you’d see the ragged roundel edges and you wouldn’t see that ‘lip’. I’ll stop saying ‘lip’ now 😅
@gvout @craigwill1982 That gave me something like this. But although better it was still too soft. So I had to try and undistort a couple of high quality LP cover scans to match & added those to the mix to provide better facial definition. Then there was hours of cleanup, cloning & colour tweaking! 😅
As a break from my usual #DoctorWho restorations (and to help out @craigwill1982) I’ve tried to recreate the full undistorted Robert Freeman photo used on the front of #TheBeatles’ 1965 LP ‘Rubber Soul’. Given how awful the online versions are, I’m pretty pleased at the result 👍
@zoesfeatherboa @BunnyGalore @The66Ramblers I think that explains it as well as anything I’ve ever heard 👏👏 - although there was a studio TARDIS appearance later in Evil, so somebody should probably have spotted it then 😅
@_paperchains @davadsteel I joined as Assistant Editor to lovely Alan Barnes with DWM 296 in September 2000. My first issue as Editor was 314 in February 2002. And yes I had to look all that up 😇
