Portrait study for a new painting. In the past, I’ve dashed off studies in a rush to get to the panting stage. This is a new attempt at actually tackling painting problems in a more deliberate manner. It takes a bit longer but I’m hoping it’s worth the effort :)

Hard at work on some NDA projects.
In the meantime, here’s a piece I rather like from an experiment last December in which I attempted to make a painting each day. Have to try that again sometime!

“Into the Feywild.”
Digital.
How far would you go to set things right?

Decided to push myself into a new color range and ended up really enjoying painting this :) For more on the process behind this one, check out my Patreon at https://t.co/767FtgIoXU

Getting into the details with this latest painting! I used to avoid giving my characters accessories, jewelry and other small touches, but now it’s one of my favorite things to do :)

So, if you’re married to an illustrator and you happen to have a wonderfully expressive face, prepare to be a model for like a gajillion paintings. Thanks for all the many poses !

I stumbled across a drawing method recently that I’ve taken to calling “digital sight sizing.” I’ve found it to be a great way to establish proportional accuracy - and no tracing involved! Check it out at:

“Yithium.”
A potent mineral with properties that amplify magic, Yithium is a coveted resource in Felrealm. Its discovery led to the Yithium Rush of 2225, bringing with it a mass migration of prospectors, adventurers and explorers to this newly discovered land.
