Started thinking up compositions for The Green Knight fanart while I was still in the theater. Don’t know if I’ll have the time to actually do it anytime soon, though.
The flipside of this is the super weird costume they gave Ben Reilly for a handful of issues, before mercifully putting him back in the old Scarlet Spider costume.
Max Huffman’s Cover Not Final book from AdHouse is so fun. Seven short stories in variations of Huffman’s geometric style, loosely connected by the presence of Career Criminal, a domino mask-wearing imp who beguiles the cast of detectives, musicians, and rideshare drivers.
I’m a little bothered that ripping people in half has become Sentry’s *thing* after he did it one time and it was really cool and unexpected, but I’m a lot bothered it looks less dynamic and interesting every time it happens.
Also, RIP Shift.
It’s such a DC Comics move to build a character up over a years-long run of a successful book, and then kill them offscreen and never mention them again.
I started reading the New 52 Metamorpho book by Aaron Lopresti, and I like his redesign for the character. It basically incorporates some elements from Shift, changes the textures, and removes the underpants.
And it’s still as unnecessary as every other post-52 redesign.
