I’m listening to The Human League’s Travelogue and think I’ve finally worked out that the bit of synthpop I don’t like is the pop bit. When the synths are weird and uncomfortable and overbearing then I love it. Anywhere near a pop song and I find it unpleasantly cloying somehow

I picked these two books up on a whim off eBay and they’re a joy: wordless and silly and funny and peculiarly heartwarming. Very much the sort of thing I not only want to do but feel I *can* do now
