Acrylic portrait of Susan B Anthony from the @usnatarchives Museum’s exhibition Rightfully Hers: American Women & the Vote.
Though the 19th Amendment wouldn’t be passed until 14 years after her death, Anthony is considered by many to be the face of the women’s suffrage movement.
My acrylic portrait of Florence Kelley from the @USNatArchives Museum’s exhibition Rightfully Hers: American Women & the Vote. To her, suffrage was the way women could ensure safety and freedom in the workplace, by winning the right to influence political action and legislation.
Opening today @USNatArchives Museum’s exhibition #RightfullyHers - American Women and the Vote.
First up is my featured portrait of Adella Hunt Logan - an African-American writer & activist for education and suffrage for women of color.
