The event will run from Sunday 2nd January to Thursday 6th January, with the preferred days for surveying being Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th.

It's illegal to disturb a whale or dolphin, but it is not illegal to disturb a seal around most of the UK coastline, despite seals being considerably more vulnerable when they rest on land.
