I appreciate how the abusive parental characters aren't given redemption or forgiveness arcs, because they are adults and should know better, but the children they harmed who turned to worse things in life were given their chance to atone for their mistakes. (4/4)

And then Mie shows Li, who has been raised in the Shadow Alliance and doesn't have a broader scope of the world, the affection of a real parent and the life of a more normal child, which is how he comes to develop past his villainy. (3/)

Yamato is a very well loved child, and Mie is an incredibly capable mother, and although she isn't perfect, she has raised Yamato to be strong and believe in himself and the people he cares for. She raised him into the best person he can be. (2/)

I like that the show really highlights how important a parent is to how their child will grow and develop into their own person, where we have Cain and Enjyu who are both abused, neglected children growing up into the worst versions of themselves (1/)

Yamato and Enyju are like perfect parallels to each other but it only just hit me that this is also another one of those. The difference being one child has a loving parent to fall back on after being heartbroken and the other has absolutely nothing and no one.
