Good morning and welcome to day 11 of NOT BOLOGNA! Today we're starting with the delicate Yumeno! She has exhibited as a printmaker and worked as a primary school art teacher before coming to Cambridge. Her etching experience is evident in her work, even when completed digitally!

This afternoon we are featuring the joyful art of Skyla! Her first book, "It Is OK", uses pared back imagery to celebrate the joy of how we are all unique, and that we should relish each other's differences! Skyla's artwork definitely brings some sunshine to our days! 🌞

Our next illustrator for day 8 is the wonderful Emilie Gill. She has been longlisted for @theaoi @DirIllustration #worldillustrationawards ! She has also just received a Highly Commended award from the Macmillan Prize for Illustration @MacmillanKidsUK @panmacmillan 😁! Go Emilie!

Our second illustrator for day 6 is the wonderful Lauren! She says she "fell in love with picturebooks. I find so much joy in telling stories." And she is great at it! Last year she was shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards in 2 categories!

Kicking off day 6 of NOT BOLOGNA, we are delighted to show you Samareh, @samareh.azadi! Growing up in Iran, she experienced a lot of discrimination, but she says the difficulties she faced, "gave me a passion and motivation to raise my voice to support women and minorities".

Our final Friday feast is from Chinnyin @chinnyin_c! She has a wide range of picturebooks on offer, showing her talent across styles! With these gorgeous pictures we wish you a wonderful weekend and will see you on Monday for more fantastic illustrations! 🌞☺️

We finish off this first week with a fabulous illustrator, Michelle! She has two main ways of working - one is graphic and digital, the other is loose and painterly. Both express her enthusiasm for life and a passion for travel!

Our second illustrator for today is Danfeng! She says, "I want to concentrate on the people who are suffering in this world and comfort them with my works. I would like to do books on sensitive topics, like the story of an Alzheimer's grandma, or the world of autistic children."
