I love these architectural designs for Ralph Erskine's never-realised arctic utopia in Resolute Bay, Canada commissioned in the early 1970s.

They look like they could come out of a Moomin story. You can also see similarities with Erskine's work on Newcastle’s Byker Wall.

did anyone else grow up with a Safeway as their main big shop, and they introduced these scanners so you could work out how much you'd spent as you go? They felt very futuristic.

I imagine they didn't catch on as they saved the consumers too much money.
