Karim doesn't change much in terms of his features BUT he does upgrade to a cool eye patch. It was probably a gift from Samir.

And then there's Ravi, whose hair grows insanely fast. He's much more luxurious in book two, let's be honest.

Makoto fared slightly better. He had to cut his hair off in book one, but it's coming back! He also finally starts eating more, so he's a little less frail.
