Sketching out poses for another commission

Some previs and WIP stuff.

Whatever project I tackle next, I'm definitely going to spend lot more time in the planning stage.

I'll also aim to complete it a lot faster, as I think the long time between pages contributed to inconsistency as my art style evolved.

@DiegoIzq117 @NakaiCanon @AhiruLady I think it's likely the face shape that's causing the resemblance. Rula and Nesu designs were made by @AhiruLady so I'm referencing them for the comic.

sdfartjlk; Finally pretty much done with this assignment.

I have a lot of trouble wrapping my head around the forearm muscles.

Drawing so many of these space birds mainly grew out of my ingrained childhood practice of drawing dinosaurs mixing with my familiarity with Halo.

I'm very happily surprised that my renditions of them have clicked with so many people! 😁

So I thought I'd go over some of my thought process on this!

A little commissions WIP update. I'm really liking this new coloring workflow for me so far.

I do lasso tool for blocking out colors, then a realistic water color brush for large shadows, then I go back over it with a pencil tool for details.
