To keep colour consistency when making a piece with two individual drawings, I place the previous beside the new work and match colours to it. Here you can see the running image was used for reference for the portrait skin tones.

Made as part of a larger piece for Liverpool FC where all the songs of the Kop were imagined as LP covers.
