DETANA!! TWINBEE on the NEC PC ENGINE (Konami 1992)

Also known as Bells & Whistles, it's a very well done port from arcade original to the console.
SNES got its TwinBee installment the next year with Pop'n TwinBee.

Kishin Douji Zenki: BATTLE RAIDEN on the SUPER FAMICOM (1995)

Gorgeous action platformer, released only in Japan. Based on a manga from 1992, the game was published by HudsonSoft. Features very good level design IMO.

PRINCE OF PERSIA on the COMMODORE 64

Excellent port, perhaps the best 8bit version of the Jordan Mechner classic
Was ported by Andreas Varga in 2011, top homebrew effort
Needs EasyFlash to run on real C64 hardware

PAPERBOY on Amiga
Was such a powerful system back in the day that people tend to obsess about its impressive games with parallax layers, big sprites etc

So simpler games were overlooked. A decent arcade port, it's fun.

DISPOSABLE HERO is a 50 fps shmup for COMMODORE AMIGA 500 from 1993.

Very well done, specially the bosses and related creepy creatures.

Also on CD32 and is rather common in that format, for collectors.
Quality game.

METAL GEAR (Commodore 64, 1988)

I grew up with MSX so this port is just a curiosity since I saw its full page advert on US magazines back in the day.

Has stiff controls and glitches.😐
And the the NES level layouts.

LIONHEART (1993), game that pushed the AMIGA 500 to its limits on screen colors and scrolling.

Lionheart's artist is HENK NIEBORG, who has a new game, BATTLE AXE, on Kickstarter:

EON Project (by Worderboy Bobi)

Shadow of the Beast-inspired indie game. Looking great.
pc demo is available and it is currently being ported to the Commodore Amiga by AmigaWave/Goblins (its style fits well!)

For this , an Amiga/CD32 hidden gem: FIGHTIN' SPIRIT
This is the re-release on simple jewel case
The original release (big box) is rare and expensive (hundreds €)

It's an homage to NeoGeo games, looks and plays like Fatal Fury. 10/10

:Disposable Hero for the Commodore Amiga *disk version*

Rare, since only the CD32 version is still easily found.

The material is outstanding (poster by scifi artist JOHN BERKEY). Great 16-bit shoot 'em up
