I hadn't heard of @AVS_comic until it randomly popped into my feed one day. It looked exactly like the ridiculous, lighthearted super-team book I'd been craving. I was initially worried it was going to be *too* ridiculous but I didn't need to be. [1/4]
MORNING IN AMERICA from @MagsVisaggs and @claudiaguirre is a little Stranger Things, a little Paper Girls, and a great intro to a gang of characters that look to have plenty of layers. An easy read with fluid dialogue and a hook kept just out of reach enough to want more.
#Iceman has been criticised by a few (comicsgate) because an existing character heavily explored his homosexuality. @SinaGrace has been criticised for writing a previously heterosexual character as a "stereotypical gay" and the people who say this? Majority straight men.
Mr & Mrs X is one of the funnest openers I've read in a while. X-Men Red convinced me to get back into X-books (there was so many to choose from it was overwhelming) but the focus o just 2 main characters and a new dynamic for much beloved characters is a big win for #comics
Been a long time since I've read an X-Title but Red is a true standout. I felt like I was a kid again, with that same sense of adventure and family I used to get. @TomTaylorMade evokes that nostalgic feeling without ever feeling like a retread. SO good to be reading Jean again.
I went into this without even reading the hook (have you seen that creative team?) and I'm glad I did. It is a true page-turner, laying lots of groundwork for future issues without smacking you in the face with it. Another unique book from @thevaultcomics #comics #comicbooks #art
By far one of my favourite #comics of the past few years. Also, I commented on Instagram that the series hadn't been updated after Issue 2 on Comixology and @thevaultcomics were straight on it. For that, I'll also be purchasing the physical copy asap.
