From my sketches, a group of players & goalies were chosen to be taken to final. Each player was essentially “quadrupled” - one @mapleleafs & @buffalosabres player in their HC kits, & then those players mirrored (being careful not to leave the branding backwards!).

Creating illustrations for the 2022 Heritage Classic was a true dream. My style proved to be a good fit for the “industrial” aesthetic of the event, which I further emphasized with rivets & shapes that reflected the machinery present in the steel mills Hamilton is known for.

I have read that the white stork is viewed as a sign of good luck in Ukraine. Also, that if you destroy their nest, they’ll burn your house down.
