109 Tasmanian devils
25 Spotted-tailed quolls
20 Eastern quolls
1 Brushtail possum (multiple times...)
Just finished monitoring a healthy population of Tassie devils -
13 breeding females carrying/denning a total of 41 joeys!
Leaving Cradle mountain to head to the coast today - it’s been quollity, with many a wombat thrown in
Some dasyurid rear foot comparisons for #DevilFactThursDay
Tasmanian devil, spotted-tailed quoll & Eastern quoll
Note the extra digit on the STQ compared to the others
Some of the Tasmanian devil joeys are starting to get a bit of peach fuzz - they’ll be hairy little devils in no time!
Looking for field assistance for a couple of Tasmanian devil monitoring trips in NW Tasmania in July - food & board covered for duration of stay. Can all but guarantee devils and quolls, and it's even joey season...
Send me an email if interested - d.g.hamilton@utas.edu.au
