i can do slight tweaks in the shaders though, so i can probably just futz with those to unify the palette a little more
slowly working out a final look. i think the props ended up having too warm a palette compared to my characters so i might tweak either

the absolute jank in my rigs is the funniest thing to me
ridiculous forced perspective is my favorite thing in the world
and just like that, my bear is also almost done -- just gotta redo the blendshapes for the head and torso
