I normally live in the real world but I like to escape to the 3D printing world where conventional rules don’t apply and your thoughts can become a reality.

This castle tower I designed isn't very tall? 🙃🧐🤔

Most of my best projects come from friends and family requests, this one is no different. The proof of concept worked! I still have a couple days of design before I can test print the final version. 😬 So much work. 😅

Oh cool, I love LoboCNC's designs! I had the curved thought as well. Here is Rev. 2, I also thinned up the grippers and made them longer.

There is actually a hidden spring you cant see too.

It does print in that orientation, if I understand correctly. Its made it more of a challenge. Its why there is a chamfer here.

I did cheat and created a custom brim to keep the sun gear from falling over during printing.💪

I designed a smaller version of the print in place planetary gear demo I made previously so it can be used as a test print! It's low profile but with a little bridging, supports are not needed. It should be about the same weight as benchy. 🤞

I wanted to get more familiar with designing planetary gearing so I made this print-in-place demo unit. ⚙

The sun and planets have 12 teeth and the ring has 36. In hindsight I should not have used the same number of teeth for both as I think my ratio's will be 3:1 and 1:1..🤦‍♂️

I designed a Christmas game this morning!?!?😲 You roll a colored dice and try to get that color tree out with the candy cane without knocking the game over. Best part, the trees print in vase mode!

I'm bad at names, what should I call it?

Yes, that would work. Right now its a backup plan because I would really like to get threads to work as they tend to be more durable. I think I'm pretty close to a solution, I might just have to increase the size of the pommel a little.

Yep, the groove mount sits flush with the bottom of the orbiter for the shortest filament path possible.
