A few Christmases ago, I got a used copy of Pigs at Christmas, a discard from Salina Public Library in Kansas. Here are some scans to show you how great this book is.
One of my favourite Christmas books is Arlene Dubanevich's Pigs at Christmas. Published in 1986, it's out of print & might be hard to track down. Santa, for Christmas I would like Pigs at Christmas to be republished!
I also love Humphrey's sidekick & conscience mouse, Arthur, &, of course, Samson the cat.

Here's the 1952 Philadelphia Athletics Christmas card. Alas, things were looking bleak for the A's both on & off the field. 1954 was their last year in Philly; they were off to Kansas City, & then to Oakland.
I'm on the lookout for the missing books, but I pass the time by reading and re-reading these classics.
Oakley is the Cole Porter of picture books. His paintings are as witty as his stories. His genius is in the fine details of both.
@rauchway Here's another Vanity Fair cover by Miguel Covarrubias, from February 1933. I wouldn't have known without the caption* that FDR's Valentine was his veep John Nance Garner. Great caricatures!
*Canadians don't need to know stuff like this.
For #Thanksgiving, a lovely Gourmet cover by one of my favourite artists, Hilary Knight
