Whenever I'm trying to overcome art block I always go back to linework, simple shapes and patterns. I wonder what that means? 🤔

Some recent sketchbook faves. I've been trying to move away from drawing only characters and plants and trees are a great way to do that. 🌱🌵🌳

I tend to push my animal stylization to make them look more original and recognizable, which can very easily lead to a lack of likeness and charm. Something I'm still trying to learn is to just trust the process. I know how to draw a lion. I don't need to invent a new one.
